Ahly, CFC, Shams and Prisons complete semifinal lineup at Women

2017 Women's African Club Championship- Quarterfinals

 

Monastir, Tunisia, April 13 2017- Defending champions Ahly and their compatriots Shams (EGY), organisers Carthage (TUN) and Prisons (KEN) booked their tickets to the semifinal of the 2017 Women's African Club Championship following their victories in the quarterfinal opponents GSP (ALG),Iinjis (CMR), Sfax (TUN) and Pipeline (KEN) in Monastir, Tunisia on Thursday.

 

 Carthage will face Prisons, while Ahly play their Egyptian arch rivals Shams in the semifinal of the competition on Friday, while as Sfax meet Pipeline and Injis line up against GSP for the 5 to 8 brackets.

 

 In the most exciting match of the day Prisons fought for more than two hours to outclass their neighbours Pipeline in a grueling 5 setter 3-2 (13-25, 28-26, 25-19, 23-25 15-13). 

 

 Carthage did their utmost to cruise past Sfaxien in all Tunisian clash 3-1 (27-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23).

 

 8 time champions Ahly upset 2014 winners GSP 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-10), while Shams found it easy to surpass Injis 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-16).

 

 In the play off 9 to 16 positions Ndejje (UGA), FAP (CMR), Marsa (TUN) and Army (RWA) won their corresponding matches against ARSU (SEY), Asec (CIV), Bafia (CMR) and Bejaia (ALG) respectively. The winners will play for the 9 t0 12 places, while the losers fight for the 13 to 16 standings.
