Mozambique and Morocco dominate the thrilling CAVB Beach VB Cup

2017 CAVB Beach VB Cup 



 Maputo, Mozambique, May 13, 2017- Mozambique women and Morocco men Beach Volleyball teams led their corresponding pool in Day 1 of the 2017 CAVB Beach Nations' Cup held in Maputo, Mozambique on Friday.


 In Women's Pool A, Hosts Mozambique ladies started in the best way through Benin 2-0 (21-16, 21-10), then they overcame Mauritius 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) to lead Pool A. Kenya beat Sierra Leone 2-0 and Benin 2-0 to stay also undefeated in the same pool.


 In women's Pool B, Morocco overcame Nigeria 2-1 and Namibia 2-0 to lead the pool and show their consistency with the Rwandan team who won twice against South Africa and Nigeria and suffered a defeat against Namibia.


In the Men's category Morocco beat Rwanda 2-0 (21-13, 21-15) and continued the victory rhythm against Sudan 2-0 (21-14, 21-18) and Mauritius 2-0 (21-14, 21-17) to lead the pool followed by hosts Mozambique who won two matches against Mauritius and Sudan.


 Pool B showed Tunisian dominance after they topped Kenya 2-0 and Sierra Leone 2-1.


 The African Cup qualifies the top 4 teams in each category to the FIVB World Championship.
