Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Libya battle it out in Zone 1 Qualifiers for World championship

 Tunis, Tunisia, September 19, 2017- African giants Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Libya will fight for the World Championship slots when they compete together in a round robin tournament in Tunis, Tunisia, September 20 to 23, 2017.


 Zone 1 has 1 vacancy in the finals of the 2017 Men's African Nations championship to be hosted in Cairo, Egypt 22 to 29 October as it acts also as qualification finals for the 2018 FIVB World championship.


 The winner of the zone plus the top 3 ranked teams in the FIVB ranking, will qualify for the 2017 African Nations championship finals where the top three teams their book the World Championship tickets. This option may allow three teams out of the 4 zonal countries qualification tickets.


 Morocco had a preparation camp in Turkey where they played against 4 friendly matches against Turkish teams under supervision of the new coach Eric Ngapeth who took over the responsibility.


 The Algerian team prepared through the participation in the Islamic Games in Azerbaijan where they finished at the bronze medal podium.


 The Tunisian and Libyan teams had also they condensed preparation during the last three weeks.
