Carthage through to second win as FAP start victorious at Women Club Champs

Cairo, Egypt, March 7, 2018 – Holders Carthage of Tunisia registered their second win on Day 2 of the 2018 CAVB African women’s club championship after beating Harare City 3 -0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-9) in Pool B. The victory had giving CFC more breathing space as they fight to defend the title they won last year at home soil.

 

 The winners are the first team in the competition to reach two victories in the competition so far.

 

Revenue of Rwanda started the campaign on a high note with a resounding 3-1 (25-18, 15-25, 25-21, 25-14) victory against Nyong of Cameroun in Pool A.

 

Bafia volleyball evolution made it an easy ride over Chlef of Algeria in straights sets 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-22) in Pool B for a great opener for the Cameroonians in the championship

 

DGSP lost their second match in a row as FAP got their first victory in the championship. Their 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-11) win in Pool C gave them a slight advantage.

 

Last year finalist Shams club of Egypt finally recapture their strength as they recover from opening day defeat to beat Vision Volleyball camp of Uganda 3-0 (25-12, 25-12,25-20) in another Pool C showdown.

 

Asec Mimosas could not continue on their positive start as they lost their second match in the championship against the resolute INJS side 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-12) in Pool D.

 

In the same pool, Prisons beat Nigeria’s customs in straight sets 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-15). The winners dominated throughout on their way to first victory.
