Qualifiers for Youth African Games confirmed

Cairo, Egypt, June 5, 2018- The qualifiers for the 2018 Youth African Games have been confirmed following the end of the Zonal qualifiers across the continent to determine the zonal champions who will book their tickets for the seven zones.

 

 Youth African Games finals features 8 teams in both boys and girls categories which will be the zonal champions beside the organisers Algeria.

 

 Tunisia booked Boys and Girls tickets in Zone 1 after they won the zonal qualifiers in their homelands. Gambia snatched the boys' tickets in zone 2, leaving the girls' ticket for Senegal.

 

 Nigeria boys and girls beat Niger to clinch Zone 3 qualification berth, while Cameroon beat Congo DR in both Boys and Girls qualifiers to claim zone 4 vacancies. 

 

 Egypt battled it out against Kenya and Uganda in Zone 5 to clinch both Boys and Girls places in the finals. Botswana will represent Zone 6 after cancellation of the qualifiers, which managed to be held in Mozambique, Madagascar will represent Zone 7.

 

 CAVB will determine the replacement of any team in case of withdrawals.
