Nigeria and the Central African Republic crowned at Camtel Beach Volley Tour

Yaoundé, Cameroon,  2019- Nigeria and the Central African Republic claimed women and men championships respectively at Camtel beach volleyball clash held at the end of the season in Point Vert in the Cameroonian capital of Yaoundé last week.


 The tour showed more than 200 players competing for the gold medals including 23 men and 20 female pairs from Cameroon, Nigeria, Central African Republic and Chad.

The 2018 sporting season closed on Sunday, December 30 at the Cameroon Volleyball Federation. It was on the occasion of the 4th edition of the Camtel beach volleyball clash held from 28 to 30 December 2018 at the place called Point vert located in the Yaoundé IV district. Thus, nearly 200 athletes, including 23 male pairs, 20 female pairs from the region and three foreign nations (Nigeria, Central African Republic and Chad) took part in this sports festival. At the end of the fiercely contested matches, it was the ambassadors of Nigeria and the Central African Republic who distinguished themselves as ladies and gentlemen respectively.


After a brilliant career marked by five victories in five matches, the Central African pair of Yagueme and Christ defeated the Nigerian pair Godwing and Andrew in the final. The Central Africans won the first set 23-21. After a slight slackening, they were surprised in the second set and lost 16-21. Re-energized, they found the resources and won the decisive set 15-11.


In the women's competition, it was the Tochukou/Francesca pair from Nigeria who took the grail in the final against the Cameroonian pair Wati/Modjom in two sets (21-12, 21-12, 21-12).


On the organizational level, the committee in charge has met its challenge. Fecavolley's partners (Camair-co, Negri, Tangui, Fertivela, Urimat, Saham Assurance, Nteko, Finsea) and the federation's official sponsor, Camtel, were in attendance.
