2015 All Africa Games- Men Day 11
Brazzaville, Congo, September 13, 2015- Hosts Congo Brazzaville created a new history after they qualified to their first ever volleyball competition's final following their ground breaking victory over dark horses Rwanda 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 25-23) in the semifinal of the competition in front of more than 3000 spectators at Henry Elende Hall in Brazzaville, Congo on Sunday.
Algeria upset Egypt 3-2 (25-16, 20-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-6) in the other semifinal after a thrilling performance from both teams.
Now Congo battle it out against Algeria in the final of the competition on Monday. Rwanda line up against Egypt for the bronze medal.
The volleyball family at All Africa Games celebrated CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani's birthday. Elwani thanked all the attendances and stated that it was his best birthday being between his beloved Volleyball Family although he is thousand of kilometers away from home.

Congo Brazzaville v Rwanda 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 25-23)
Congo Brazzaville entertained a fully packed Henry Elende Arena in their way to beat Rwanda 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 25-23) in the semifinal in front of more than 3000 spectators were on their toes till the end of the match. Congo Brazzaville qualified to the final, while Rwanda play for the bronze medal.
After the home team won the first set Rwanda came back aggressively to win the second set and draw 1-1. Aided by the crowd support, Congo rebounded quickly to win the third and fourth set after the Rwandan team struggled till the last point. Abrais Nkouka led the winners with 15 points including 2 aces, while Christophe Mukunzi led the losers with 16 points.
Algeria v Egypt 3-2 (25-16, 20-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-6)
Algeria came from a set behind to overcome Egypt in epic tiebreaker 3-2 (25-16, 20-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-6) in the semifinal of Men's All Africa Games. Algeria qualified to the final to meet Congo Brazzaville, while Egypt play for the bronze medal against Rwanda.
Algeria's outside hitter Islam Ould Charchali led the winners with 17 points including 5 stuff blocks, while Egypt's opposite Reda Heikal led the match scorers with impressive 30 points including the competition's best serving performance with 6 aces.
