2016 Women's African Club Championship- Day 5


Tunis, Tunisia, April 26, 2016- Prisons, Pipeline (Kenya), Revenue Authority (Rwanda), Sfax (Tunisia) and GSP (Algeria) completed the quarterfinal line up at Women's African Club Championship after those team joined the already qualified Carthage (Tunisia), Ahly and Shams (both from Egypt) to the final 8 round due to be held on Thursday.


 the competition showed a lot of thrills in the final day of the preliminary round in Tunis, Tunisia on Tuesday as the qualifiers won their matches to settle in the top 2 positions of each of the 4 first round pools.


In Pool A Rwanda's Revenue Authority set the second win against Ndijje of Uganda 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-21) to finish second of the pool with a win- loss ratio of 2-1, after the already qualified Carthage of Tunisia (3-0).


 In Pool B Sfax of Tunisia fought for more than 2 hours to beat Wilaya Bejaia (Algeria) 3-2 (20-25, 11-25, 25-19, 27-25, 15-11) to finish second of the pool with 2-1 following Ahly who remained unbeaten in the first round with 3-0 record.


 Record holders Kenya Pipeline beat FAP of Cameroon 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-4) to lead Pool C with 3 straight victories followed by Algeria's GSP who beat Ghana's Police 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-10) to come second with 2-1.


 Pool D showed Shams of Egypt achieving the 4th straight victories over Jos South (Nigeria) 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-13) to lead the pool followed by Kenya Prisons who downed Gabon's Ndella 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-12).


 The quarterfinal will be held on Thursday after a rest day on April 27 as Ahly (EGY) play GSP (ALG), Pipeline (KEN) face Sfaxien  (TUN), Elshams (EGY)line up against Revenue (RWA) and Carthage (TUN) combat Prisons (KEN).
