Monastir, Tunisia, April 7th, 2016 - Seven times African Women club champions Kenya Pipeline beat Army of Rwanda 3- 0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-12) in pool C opening match of the 2017 women’s African volleyball club championship in MZALI hall in Monastir, Tunisia.
The Kenyan team had a tough first set after leading convincingly but Army closed the gap 22-22 before they finally lose the remaining sets to the Kenyans. Even though the Rwandans closed it at 24 – 24, setter Jane Wacu upset her opponents with her passes to overcame the Army defense.
In the third set Pipeline defended well to stop Army with spikes from Seraphine Mukantambara and easily win the set 25 – 12 for a 3-0 victory
