Monastir, Tunisia, April 7, 2017 – Bejaia of Algeria encountered an early setback in their pool B opening of the 2017 CAVB Women’s African club championship after losing 3 – 0 (25- 13, 25- 22, 25-17) to Marsa of Tunisia.
The first set was an easy ride for Marsa as they forced 25-13 win. It was a close battle between the two teams in the second set decided in the very late part. Marsa took advantage of some unforced opponent’s errors. The two sides battled closely until 14-14, but Marsa got the upper hand and wins the second set 25-22.
Bejaia then have a brilliant start to the third set and force their way to 5 points lead but it did not last long before Marsa closed it in their advantage to win the set 25-17 and the match at 3-0
