Egypt's Ahly Hammer University of Zimbabwe

Monastir, Tunisia, April 8th 2017 - The excitement and the motivation at Ahly is revived after humiliating University of Zimbabwe 3-0 (25-8, 25-7, 25-16 ) to make a great start to the title defense with their second win of the 2017 Women’s African volleyball club championship at KSAR HELLAL in Monastir on Saturday.

 

 Ahly improved their record to 2-0, while Zimbabwe team started their campaign with 0-1 in their first match.

 

Ahly dominated throughout the match even though the University performed equally well, taking a few points against the champions, a long rally with several impressive saves emerged afterwards but it saw the point eventually go to Ahly. From that point, the point gap gradually began widening up till 25-8 for Ahly, where they stop the opponents to gain the first set.

 

The same match plan continues in the second set, the timing from Ahly’s players was well coordinated, at 8-2, a time out was called but this did not work for the Southern Africans and Ahly added the point tally to 11-2, University got three straights points from Ahly’s errors and any point win, the university girls celebrates with excitement.  The third set was their best of the night with 16 points.
