Monastir, Tunisia, April 9, 2017- Rwanda's Army flew past Cameroon's Bafia 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25- 15) in pool C encounter at Women's African Club Championship held here at Monastir, Tunisia on Sunday.
Both teams test each other out in the first set trying to find spaces in the back court and scoring with powerful cross court hits. The first set was neck and neck until Army takes the lead, finally winning the set 25-17. Army scored early and led for the set, playing some smart points. Consistent recycling of the ball led to well-earned points. The Rwandans win 25-12 in the second set.
This was a crucial set for Bafia if they were to remain in the game. Handling error results in Bafia trailing in the 3rd set, Mukantambara hits off the block and then gets a good block herself to help Army extend the lead to 16-11 at the 2nd technical timeout. Army then pushes further to win 25-15.
