Tunisia's Sfaxien top FAP of Cameroun

9 April 2017

Monastir, Tunisia, April 9, 2017- Sfaxien of Tunisia defeated FAP from Cameroun 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-14) in Pool D of the 2017 women’s African club championship.

The Tunisian favourites improved to 2-0, while FAP dropped to 0-2.

In the first set, FAP were down 13-6 after a run of four points by CSS but started to settle down in a match that both teams need to earn a win. The Tunisians started to exert themselves into the technical timeout and had a balanced attack in the rest of the way to win the first set 25-15.

In the second set, Sfaxien continue to look like the team that were the number one heading into the championship as they led early and often in the set.

In the third set, CSS was cruising with a eleven point lead as late as 12-1 when Sfaxien would not refuse to let the margin go as they rallied with a couple key blocks and kills then took the lead at 14-1 going into time out.

After the timeout, CSS answered by winning the match after a Dear tip, CSS kill on the net, a big block by the players and then went long on an attempted kill to end the match with a 25-14 win.
