Monastir, Tunisia, April 10, 2017- Defending championship Ahly of Egypt trounced Marsa of Tunisia 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-11) to conquer pool B in the 2017 women’s African club championship at Mzali hall in Monastir Tunisia on Monday.
Ahly led pool B with 3-0 record, while Marsa dropped to 2-2 at the end of their first round matches.
The reigning champions rounded off a memorable day as they remain unbeaten on the way to title defense. This matchup had even more excitement in store for the African champions and winning the first set 25-17 was a dear one for them.
Coming into the second set, Ahly look more dangerous and easily overcame Marsa 25-15.
Marsa tried by tapping unimaginable reserves of stamina, they had been more potent from the opening of the championship onwards but are now submerged to Ahly in their last bit of the final.
