Monastir, Tunisia, April 11, 2017- FAP from Cameroun finally got their first victory in the 2017 women’s African club championship after they took on ARSU of Seychelles in a 5 set showdown 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 28-30, 26-24, 6-15) in Pool D at Hellal Hall on Tuesday.
FAP set the first victory to feature 1-2 record and finish third, while ARSU dropped to 0-3 in the fourth position.
Even though both teams are out of the quarter final lineup there was much for celebration for both to get their first victories in the competition. ARSU won the first set 25-18, thinking they are on their way to first win before the Cameroonians came back stronger to level 1-1 by winning the second set 25-23.
A great and master class third set followed, taking to set 58 points, in advantage to FAP winning 30-28 to led 2-1. A great matchup full of attacks and blocks followed with each passing rally going either way until ARSU level it 2-2 to set a match for a deciding set.
And ultimately FAP won the deciding set 15-6 to finish third in their pool
