Monastir, Tunisia, April 14th 2017- Pipeline recovered from their quarter final loss to beat Sfaxien of Tunisia 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-21) in the playoffs for position 5-8 match at the 2017 Women's African Club championship held here at Mzali Hall in Monastir, Tunisia on Friday.
Pipeline the 7 times champions, were beaten by compatriots Prisons in quarterfinal to kill their semi final spot. The Kenyans had put that aside to robbed CSS in a comfortable style.
Pipeline were positive in the opening stages of the first set and there was free flow of ball with great volleys from all angles and CSS defense couldn't contain the pressure and Pipeline won the set 25-11.
The redeem of the match was changed in the second set, Sfaxien attacking with purpose and Pipeline were piped to trail at 8-5. The following rallies were a see saw encounter. And there was a trades of points. Level at 17all, CSS forged for a comeback but Pipeline remain resolute to win 25-21.
Sfaxien still opted for a revival shift in the 3rd set. They took an early lead and changes their redeem of play to upset the Kenyans, but it fails as Pipeline win 25-21.
