Monastir, Tunisia, April 14th 2017- Shams of Egypt claimed a historic victory over their compatriot Ahly in epic five setter 3-2 (25-19, 15-25, 18-25, 25-17, 15-8) to qualify to the final of the 2017 Women's African club championship.
Shams will play the final against Carthage on Sunday to determine all new African winners as both teams didn't achieve the title in history.
After shams surprised the fans with a starting fever in the first set to win 25-19, Ahly team regained their rhythm and started to use the efficient quick attacks to win 2 successive sets 25-15 and 25-18 to lead 2-1.
Shams performance raised to the utmost in the fourth set as Sarah Amin and Nada Meawad played their best to lead the dark horses to win the fourth set and continue the marvelous performance to pick the tiebreak in style 15-8 to book their first ever final berth.
