Marsa beat Army of Rwanda in epic tiebreaker to finish ninth

Monastir, Tunisia, April 15, 2017 – Marsa had completed their club championship with a convincing 3-2 (25-13, 22-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-8) win against Army to finish the competition in the 9th place after a thrilling match in Monastir, Tunisia on Saturday.


Army highlighted their ability in the first set by an early dominance and Marsa loses their way early, it’s a rather straight road to victory for Army. Highlights of the set include incredible spikes from Mukantambara, sending a strong message that they were, from then on, truly unstoppable and won the set 25-13.


The attitude from Marsa was uphold throughout in the second set, they set out a strong attack and dives to leveled 7all in the opening stages of set but slightly fell behind going into the first technical timeout. Marsa got support from the home fans whenever they score a point.


In the process Marsa earned a point from an ace to led 13-11. Army closed it 13all and from their open the point gap but later on Marsa overcame to led 21-19 and win the second set 25-22.


The second was a point to point play and Marsa frustrated their opponents to make it tied and up till to 21all no clear winner was known and the following rally was decisive as the point goes to Army and nailed it 25-22.


The 4th set was decisive for both teams and Marsa had the first advantage leading 8-7. And they continue the dominance to 25-15 win. The game at 2-2, both side having two in the bag, an impressive 5th set followed with each passing rally captivating and Marsa wins 15-8
