Cameroon entertain fans as Kenya and Senegal begin victorious

2017 Women's African Nations Championship- Day 1

 

 Yaoundé, Cameroon, October 7, 2017- Hosts Cameroon entertained their excited fans with opening victory 3-0 (25-22, 25-11, 25-17) over Botswana in the 2017 Women's African Nations Championship opening, at Palais des Sports in presence of CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani in capital Yaoundé.

 

 Defending champions Kenya and heavy favourites Senegal started the competition also victorious after they stunned Nigeria and RD Congo respectively in Pool B matches.  

 

 Kenya used the experienced staff to fly past Nigeria 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-10) to show their consistency to defend their title.

 

 Senegal rebounded efficiently after draw 1-1 to win a tough encounter against new comers RD Congo 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-15)

Pool A: Cameroon v Botswana 3-0 (25-22, 25-11, 25-17). More

Pool B: Senegal v RD Congo 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-15). More

             Kenya v Nigeria 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-10). More
