Kenya stay unbeaten as Egypt upset Algeria at Women's African Champs

2017 Women's African Nations Championship- Day 2



 Yaoundé, Cameroon, October 8, 2017- Kenya became the only team to set two victories after they beat Senegal 3-0 (25-21, 28-26, 25-15) on Day 2 of the 2017 Women's African nations Championship held at Palais des Sports in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Sunday.


 Egypt started their campaign victories as they beat their North African Neighbours 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-14) in Pool A. Meanwhile Tunisia win Nigeria 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-10, 25-11) after a tough fluctuating game marked the most exciting moment of the day.


 At the end of the second day of the preliminary round both Egypt and Cameroon led Pool A with 1-0 in the 4 nation pool, while Botswana and Algeria remain winless.


 In Pool B Kenya led with a win- loss ratio of 2-0 to become the only team who scored two victories, followed by Tunisia 1-0, Senegal 1-1, RD Congo 0-1 and Nigeria 0-2.


 The competition resumes on Monday with three matches where Cameroon face Algeria in Pool A, Kenya meet Congo RD and Tunisia battle it out against Senegal in Pool B.
