Egyptian blockers were behind the victory over Botswana

Yaoundé, Cameroon, October 10, 2017- Egypt clinched the third semifinal ticket at the 2017 Women's African Nations Championship after Kenya and Cameroon early booked their places in the final four after they beat Botswana 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-21) in Day 4 of the competition at Palais des Sports, Yaoundé, Cameroon on Tuesday.

 

Cameroon fought back after a good start to defeat Algeria 3-1 (25-20, 25-9, 17-25, 25-10) in Pool A of the 2017 Women's African Nations Championship at Palais des Sports Hall in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Monday.

 

 Middle blocker Aya Ahmed was the key star in the victory using her talent quick attacks from position 3 beside 3 kill blocks she succeeded to mark. The other middle blocker Farida Elaskalany was also in time scoring 11 points as second best scorer. From the loser side Moyo Jestinah led the scorer with 9 points.

 

 Egypt led easily in the first and second sets, but Botswana succeeded to lead several times in the third in an attempt to comeback in the game, but again Egyptian centers blocked all ways to lead their team to the straight sets win.
