Yaoundé, Cameroon, October 10, 2017- Nigeria claim the first victory in their 2017 Women's African Nations Championship's campaign after they took on RD Congo 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-15) in Pool B match at Palais des Sport Hall in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Tuesday.


 Nigeria improved their win- loss ratio to 1-2 in three matches while Congo stayed winless with 0-3.


 Nigerian attacker Mercy Promise led the winner's scorers with 13 points; but Margot Mutshima led the match scorers by 14 points for the losers.


Nigeria had the upper hand in blocking and serving to arrange their attacks towards the first win.
